Content Policy

This page explains how the content on VaticanTickets.co is researched, written, checked and updated — and what it is not.

What this site is

VaticanTickets.co is an independent visitor guide to the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Gardens and related sites in Rome. Our aim is to help you choose the right ticket or tour, avoid queues and plan a visit that suits your time and budget.

We are not the Vatican Museums, the Holy See, or an official ticket office, and we do not sell tickets. Official tickets are available at museivaticani.va. We earn a commission when you book through our partners GetYourGuide and Tiqets – see our Affiliate Disclosure.

How we research

  • Primary sources first. Opening hours, closure days, dress code, security rules and official prices are taken from the Vatican Museums’ and St. Peter’s Basilica’s official websites and notices.
  • Partner listings. Tour inclusions, prices, durations and meeting points are taken directly from the current GetYourGuide or Tiqets listing at the time of writing.
  • Visitor experience. Practical advice (best entry times, how long rooms take, where crowds build) draws on first-hand visits, recent traveller reviews and guide feedback.
  • No paid placement. No tour operator, partner or attraction pays us to feature, rank or recommend anything. Our partners do not review content before publication.

Accuracy and its limits

We check facts carefully, but the Vatican changes things: hours shift for liturgical events, papal audiences close areas without notice, prices are revised, and tours are withdrawn or renamed. Content on this site is accurate to the best of our knowledge on the date shown at the top of each page, but:

  • Prices shown are indicative. The price you pay is the one displayed on the partner’s booking page at checkout.
  • Availability, inclusions and cancellation terms are set by the partner or operator and may differ from what we describe.
  • Always confirm opening hours and closures on the official Vatican Museums site before you travel, especially for Sundays, holidays and Holy Week.

We are not responsible for losses arising from changes made by the Vatican, the partners or tour operators after publication.

How we keep pages current

  • Every page shows a “last updated” date.
  • Ticket and tour pages are reviewed at least quarterly, and immediately when a partner notifies us of a change.
  • Hours and closure pages are checked against the official calendar each month and ahead of major religious dates.
  • If a linked tour is no longer available, we replace or remove the link within a reasonable time of finding out.

Corrections

If you spot an error – an out-of-date price, a closed entrance, a broken link, please fill the form with the message and page URL. We correct confirmed errors as quickly as we can and note material corrections on the page.

Use of AI tools

We use AI-assisted tools for parts of our drafting and editing workflow. Every page is reviewed, fact-checked and finalised by a human editor before publication. AI tools are not used to generate reviews, ratings or claims of personal experience.

Images

Photographs are our own, licensed from stock providers, or used under the licence stated in the caption. Images of tours may be supplied by the partner or operator. If you believe an image is used without permission, contact us, and we will remove it or add correct attribution.

Reviews and ratings

Where we show ratings or review counts, they come from the partner’s listing at the time of writing and will differ from live figures. We do not write or fabricate reviews. Any opinion expressed as ours is clearly labelled as such.

Advertising

We do not currently carry display advertising. If we introduce it, adverts will be clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content.

Independence from the Vatican

Nothing on this site should be read as an official statement of the Vatican Museums, the Holy See or Vatican City State. Names, logos and trademarks of those bodies are used only to describe the places we write about.
